This yellow fruit does awe-inspiring things, have you noticed?
Lemonade is great, but that’s not the whole thing. Lemons can be your best friend, literally. I’ll tell you why.
Mostly oval in shape, lemons have plenty of vitamin C, and that can bring plenty of benefits. Something as simple as lemon water (that’s nothing more than adding slices of lemon into water) flushes out toxins. If you want to you can embrace this little challenge: for 7 days drink warm lemon water before breakfast. That’s the easiest way to do a juice cleanse. This is for self-esteem alongside self-discipline. Always use fresh lemons, organic if possible. Squeeze 1/2 a lemon with each glass and drink it down first thing before you eat.
Lemons contain: citric acid (5% to 6%), calcium, magnesium, vitamin C, bioflavonoids, pectin, and limonene. All this promotes immunity and fights infection.
Lemons contain 22 anti-cancer compounds. My favorite is called flavonol glycosides which stop cell division in cancer cells.
In addition to improving eye problems linked with diabetes, lemons contain hesperetin which lowers blood sugar levels (when they are high, so it’s great if you have diabetes).
The vitamin C found in lemons helps to neutralize free radicals linked to aging. So what’s not to love about lemons?
Since I’m a skincare passionate I love using lemon for body scrubs, face masks, face peels/exfoliators and my personal favorite is using one slice of lemon to exfoliate my face. It’s simple and efficient.
Lemon Body Scrub: You will need juice from one big lemon, half a cup of grounded rice and honey or olive oil, I prefer honey (enough honey to bind things together). So you add the juice of the lemon, the rice and mix it, after you add the honey, not too much to make it sticky, enough to mix it again. Then you can use it.
Lemon Face Mask: You will need honey and lemon juice. In a bowl you put the honey (2 spoons) and some lemon juice to thin a little bit the consistency of the honey. You should use this face mask on a damp face, and let it on your face for at least 10 minutes and rinse if off with warm water.
Lemon Face Scrub: You simply use a slice of lemon to exfoliate your face. It doesn’t get much easier than that.
