Have your lemon slice today

This yellow fruit does awe-inspiring things, have you noticed?

Lemonade is great, but that’s not the whole thing. Lemons can be your best friend, literally. I’ll tell you why.

Mostly oval in shape, lemons have plenty of vitamin C, and that can bring plenty of benefits. Something as simple as lemon water (that’s nothing more than adding slices of lemon into water) flushes out toxins. If you want to you can embrace this little challenge: for 7 days drink warm lemon water before breakfast. That’s the easiest way to do a juice cleanse. This is for self-esteem alongside self-discipline.  Always use fresh lemons, organic if possible. Squeeze 1/2 a lemon with each glass and drink it down first thing before you eat.

Lemons contain: citric acid (5% to 6%), calcium, magnesium, vitamin C, bioflavonoids, pectin, and limonene. All this promotes immunity and fights infection.

Lemons contain 22 anti-cancer compounds. My favorite is called flavonol glycosides which stop cell division in cancer cells.

In addition to improving eye problems linked with diabetes, lemons contain hesperetin which lowers blood sugar levels (when they are high, so it’s great if you have diabetes).

The vitamin C found in lemons helps to neutralize free radicals linked to aging. So what’s not to love about lemons?

Since I’m a skincare passionate I love using lemon for body scrubs, face masks, face peels/exfoliators and my personal favorite is using one slice of lemon to exfoliate my face. It’s simple and efficient.

Lemon Body Scrub: You will need juice from one big lemon, half a cup of grounded rice and honey or olive oil, I prefer honey (enough honey to bind things together). So you add the juice of the lemon, the rice and mix it, after you add the honey, not too much to make it sticky, enough to mix it again. Then you can use it.

Lemon Face Mask: You will need honey and lemon juice. In a bowl you put the honey (2 spoons) and some lemon juice to thin a little bit the consistency of the honey. You should use this face mask on a damp face, and let it on your face for at least 10 minutes and rinse if off with warm water.

Lemon Face Scrub: You simply use a slice of lemon to exfoliate your face. It doesn’t get much easier than that.

Cotton: The Underrated Must Have

Cotton is an extremely soft and extra-gentle way to apply liquid skincare products.  Cotton pads (rounds or squares or other shapes) effectively remove makeup. Cotton pads are great for applying toner and thinner in consistency lotions.

Removing traces of nail polish when giving yourself a manicure is also pretty convenient.

The Facial Treatment Masks by SK-II are made of cotton, for example, a piece of cotton soaked in my many lovely things. The Signs Eye Masks are made the same way.
No one knows exactly how old cotton is. 100% organically grown cotton takes it a step further. That’s always the best option. Some brands do their cotton with toxins or synthetics or wood-pulp, which is very unhealthy.

NYC Quick Dry Nail Polish

Full name: NYC In a New York Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish

NYC or New York Color is a lower end brand that makes a variety of cosmetics; I personally like the nail polish. I like shades: 208 Pier 17 and 294 Lexington Yellow.

208 Pier 17 is a blue vibrant shade, which is lovely. The brush however is not my favorite and the nail polish for sure does not dry in less than 60 seconds. This applies to all the nail polishes from this range, not just this one. The best part about these nail polishes is that they contain calcium, magnesium and iron. 208 Pier 17 is long lasting, just like all the other shades.

294 Lexington Yellow is actually a good yellow shade. It’s almost neon. This nail polish is similar enough to Traffic by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.

NYC has a huge color range available including super glossy shades, liquid metals, metallics, as well as glitter shades. There is something for everyone, every outfit, and every occasion. From classic to modern there is something for you, plus is chip-resistant. And let’s not forget the economical price.

This product is quite similar to the Clinique Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion.

La Roche Posay Effaclar A.I.: this is a fading concentrated formula of breakouts. It’s phenomenal! For more details I already posted a review on this product.

Avène Very High Protection Emulsion: it’s water resistant and it has SPF 50; UVB + UVA protection. For normal to combination sensitive skin and it’s paraben-free. Apply evenly before sun exposure while avoiding contact with eyes. I really appreciate the pump on this product, it makes a big difference. I like to apply 2 pumps every day. It’s a summer must have.

La Roche Posay Effaclar A.I. (Targeted Breakout Corrector)

This product is paraben free which is a bonus.

I like to apply it on one spot and not on my entire face, because this white cream is very drying. So this treatment should only be applied where it’s needed. The La Roche Posay Effaclar A.I. (Targeted Breakout Corrector) is a great spot treatment. It helps provide relief from breakouts effectively and safely, even for the most sensitive skin.

From red PMS pimples to enormous active breakouts this treatment will do it all. It dries the unpleasant factor entirely. Just dab on a dot and it will go away. Smaller issues dry faster. It’s a must have!

This product should not be used daily and it’s better when it’s put to use at night.

The La Roche Posay Effaclar A.I. (Targeted Breakout Corrector) promotes healthy healing of the skin. With this item you can say goodbye to blemishes.

This formula is quick-absorbing, plus the tube is small (15ml) so it’s travel friendly.

So here you have a handy spot treatment that dries out blemishes at the same time as soothing redness and tightening pores. Use at the first sign of a breakout to instantly start to reduce spots fast and effectively.

Essence Colour & Go Nail Polish

I have shades: 111 english rose, 144 black is back, 147 miss universe, 114 fame fatal and 107 naughty and pink!

I’ll start with saying really cute names for nail polish, plus the colors are amazing. I intend to buy more shades.

This formula is super fast drying on its own, so I love that. These nail polishes are opaque in 2 coats except for the glittery/sparkly ones like 147 miss universe.

All nail polishes glide on for a glossy finish, which is nice enough.

111 english rose is a mixture of pink mauve shades, or at least I think so. It’s a much pinkier version of Modern Love by Deborah Lippmann. It’s a lighter version of Toff by Butter London. English Rose is a neutral shade so I think it will suit a lot of skin tones and plenty of occasions.

144 black is back is a very basic but necessary color. It’s a must have.

The brush of these vernis à ongles are medium sized so it’s easy to apply it.

I recommend rolling gently between your palms the nail polish bottle before use to warm the product. To apply the nail polish the best way is starting from the center of your nail. Firstly apply a fine coat all over the nail. Repeat for a completely opaque color with a second coat. And always wipe away excess lacquer on the rim of the bottle for a clean application.

147 miss universe is a very lovely shade, it’s one of my favorites from this brand. Sometimes I wish I could have eyes like that, I mean this color. Now back to the nail polish, which is a complete statement, this one needs 3 thins layers to be opaque. To me this color is edgy and sophisticated. This shade it’s a mixture of blue, green and black on the base. 147 miss universe is almost identical to Hypnotic by Leighton Denny. Basically if you love a rich teal you will love 147 miss universe.

114 fame fatal is a classic itself. This color is similar enough to Coquette by Jin Soon. This bright cherry shade is incredible! I love it!

Lastly 107 naughty and pink! is a almost neon Barbie pink. This bright pink is great for summer. It’s not a bubblegum pink or carnation pink, it’s more a fuchsia pink.
